On January 1st 2005, Oury Jalloh was abused by police after an illegal arrest during the night. He was burned in a police holding cell of the Dessau-Roßlau precinct (Sachsen-Anhalt) to the point of being unrecognizable. He was on a fire-proof security matress, with his hands and feet bound. Right from the start, state institutions tried to cover up and hide the racist murder or twist the roles of perpetrator and victim. Even anti-racist activists who are fighting to have the case investigated are being massively persecuted. The “Initiative in Remembrance of Oury Jalloh” will talk about their work, current developments, and explains why the murder of Oury Jalloh is #noisolatedincident
